The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center is hosting two upcoming virtual programs for members of the Vanderbilt community in honor of National Women’s Health Month this May. Both programs are free to attend and will be held via Zoom.
On Monday, May 11, at 3 p.m. CST, the Women’s Center will host “A Conversation about Fatphobia and Body Positivity.” May 11 is National Eat What You Want Day, which occurs annually. Community members interested in attending the conversation via Zoom should RSVP in advance by filling out their name and email in the form linked below. Zoom details will be shared with those who register for the program.

The Women’s Center also will host a screening and discussion of the short documentary Period. End of Sentence. The screening will be held on Tuesday, May 19, at 3 p.m. via Zoom. The film, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject) in 2019, centers on women in India who learn how to make inexpensive menstrual products, which they sell to other women. To attend the screening and discussion, community members should also RSVP in advance by filling out their name and email in the form linked below. Zoom details for the program will be shared with those who RSVP.

The Margaret Cuninggim Women’s Center is part of the Provost’s Office for Inclusive Excellence, which brings opportunities to further cultural and professional education for students, faculty and postdoctoral scholars at Vanderbilt University through programming such as the May 11 community conversation and May 19 screening and discussion.
