Are you a startup with a state-of-the-art solution for efficiency and equity?
The CleanTech Impact Challenge – with a cash prize of $50,000 – may be for you, and applications are now open.
Startups and small businesses working on innovative solutions to promote and create energy equity are encouraged to participate.
The CleanTech Impact Challenge is a competition designed to inspire energy equity for New Jersey, driven by technology and innovation. The NJ Tech Council (NJTC) is partnering with Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) to support innovation within the cleantech startup community.
As a nonprofit organization that represents more than 500,000 innovators in the business and technology industry, NJTC said it understands the increased demand of funding for small businesses in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has allocated a $50,000 cash prize to be awarded to the winner of the challenge along with a business mentorship.
To qualify for the CleanTech Impact Challenge, applicants must make under $2 million in revenue and have a service product that addresses one of the challenge statements relating to energy, gas and workforce development.
Businesses interested in applying should visit njtc.org/cleantech-impact/. The application deadline is midnight, July 31.
The winner will be honored on-stage by PSEG, and awarded the $50,000 cash prize, at the Sept. 24, 2020 Propelify Innovation Festival in New Jersey.
PSEG is the founding sponsor of the NJTC CleanTech Alliance, which represents a long-term dedication to supporting innovation.
PSEG Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Ralph Izzo will co-host a webinar with Andrew Yang discussing CleanTech Alliance initiatives and how PSEG is supporting innovation as well as the community with NJTC CEO Aaron Price on April 23 at 12:30 p.m.
According to Izzo: “New and existing technologies will play a critical role in decarbonizing our economy and transitioning towards a cleaner, more resilient energy system. PSEG is proud to be the founding sponsor of the NJTC’s CleanTech Alliance supporting the new CleanTech Impact Challenge. At PSEG, we understand that to successfully address climate change, we must reach out beyond the energy industry and collaborate with creative, inventive thinkers to explore new ideas and foster opportunities.”
