CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - In the leadup to Christmas there are multiple craft shows in Casper.

The Sunrise Shopping Center has been hosting one for almost 17 years.

“I changed that to make a fall and a winter opportunity for crafters to come in. It’s inside so you’re protected from the weather, and we’ve had a great response, people really enjoy having the opportunity to sell the items they create,” said Sunrise Shopping Center Property Manager Susan Hawley.

Vendors at the craft show apply to host a booth. Returning vendors are notified earlier about the event, but newcomers are welcome.

This year, according to Hawley, may be the most successful yet.

“I think this has been one of our more successful craft fairs. We’ve extended it further down into the north hallway than we have in the past because we’ve had such an overwhelming number of people who wanted to participate,” said Hawley.

Vendors also noticed how many people came to support local businesses regardless of the windy weather.

“This year’s been really great. The community has been really supportive. Yesterday, we had a really good turnout and it’s just nice to see people despite the wind,” said Lovely Fleur Owner Laura Kemberling.
