The Council on Occupational Education will conduct a virtual reaffirmation of accreditation of the Submarine Learning Center in Groton, starting at the end of September and continuing throughout the year.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the process is happening virtually.
The purpose is to assess the center and its 10 learning sites and detachments, which train more than 1,200 staff and 232,000 students annually to prepare to be undersea warfighters, are meeting the standards and criteria to be accredited by the COE, including ensuring the quality of the institution and academic programs and providing guidance for the continual improvement of their educational offerings.
"This accreditation is a critical part of our training process and illustrates our mission to deliver the best quality of training to the submarine force,” said Joe Baldi, director of training at the center.
For information, or to submit questions or comments regarding the COE, please mail Executive Director of the Commission, Council on Occupational Education, 7840 Roswell Road, Building 300, Suite 325, Atlanta, GA 30350, or submit comments through the council’s website, www.council.org.
