Solano County officials have opened a Local Assistance Center in Vacaville; with in-person support for those impacted by the LNU Lightning Complex fire
The center is a collaboration between the Sheriff’s Office and Office of Emergency Services, in coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES).
The center, at 2001 North Village Parkway on the Solano Community College campus, opens Sunday at 9 a.m. and will be open until 5 p.m. Plans are for it to be open every day.
Officials say it will serve “as a one-stop-shop for local, state and federal recovery resources that may become available.”
Resources includedocument replacement services, veteran services, agricultural assistance, environmental health services, economic recovery and financial services, motor vehicle services, healthcare and mental health services.
Please wear a face covering and practice COVID-19 social distancing best practices. If you do not have a face covering, one will be provided.
Online help is also available. Visit the Solano County Virtual Assistance Center at www.SolanoCountyRecovers.org for news alerts, active incidents, local assistance center locations and property recovery information.
Residents are also urged to register for the Alert Solano emergency notification system at www.AlertSolano.com for information on severe weather alerts, wildfires and natural disasters.
For more information call 784-1575 during regular hours of operation.
FEMA representatives will be available at the center to help fire victims with FEMA disaster assistance registrations. Register three ways: visit www.disasterassistance.gov, download the app to a smartphone or tablet, or call 1-800-621-3362.
