Genshin Impact Characters Digitally Aged By Artist Are Spot-On - Screen Rant

A Genshin Impact fan decided to have some fun with the designs of some of the game’s playable characters and digitally aged them to show how they could look if they were several years older. Many of Genshin Impact’s characters are pretty young in age, such as everyone’s favorite bomb-tossing Pyro user Klee and her fellow fire-wielder Xiangling, although some of them only appear young, like the controversial Zhongli who is actually over 6000 years old.

The cast of playable characters available in Genshin Impact has been steadily growing since the game’s global release last September 2020, with developer MiHoYo regularly releasing new characters for players to try and obtain through the game's Wishes. Most recently, the studio launched Update 1.2, the game’s biggest update to date as it not only introduced two new characters, namely Albedo and Ganyu, but also a brand-new region in the game called the Dragonspine, a snowy mountain that’s said to hold the remains of the venomous dragon, Durin, after losing its battle with Dvalin.

Reddit user u/Radennorfiqri shared his impressive work on the Genshin Impact subreddit and features two sets of characters that they digitally aged. The first set of characters include Razor, Bennett, Chongyun, and Xingqiu, while the second set features Fischl, Noelle, Keqing, and the recently-released Ganyu. The altered designs don’t only show a change in the characters’ height and facial features but some also feature differences in their outfits and hairstyles, such as Bennett wearing pants rather than his usual shorts and sporting a cleaner haircut as well as Noelle and  Xingqiu carrying much longer hair.

Notably, some of these characters aren’t actually young to begin with, such as Ganyu who is a few thousand years old like the aforementioned Zhongli and Keqing who is said to be in her early ‘20s. In spite of that, it’s still interesting to see them with a different design that makes them look taller than they actually are and Radennorfiqri definitely still has a few other young characters that would also be good subjects to be digitally aged, such as Klee and Diona.

With the roster of both playable and non-playable characters in Genshin Impact set to grow even more as the game’s story and world progresses and expands, fans will surely have a lot of opportunities to have fun with them, whether that’s through the creation of fan art like this one, cosplay, or other projects. There’s certainly a lot more fun to be had with Genshin Impact, its world, and its characters, beyond just the gameplay.
