LISBON — The Lisbon Community Health Center, 7880 Lincole Place, was awarded a grant for telehealth services from the Federal Communications Commission.

The Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Competition Bureau approved an additional 53 funding applications for the COVID-19 Telehealth Program — including the application from Lisbon Community Health Center. This was the ninth round of funding awarded by the FCC through this program.

“This is a significant, timely and much needed award for a rural provider like the Lisbon Community Health Center,” U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Marietta, said in a news release. “I’ve already talked to the leadership team of the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County, and they are eager to put this grant to use immediately to better serve patients.”

Lisbon Community Health Center was awarded $376,191 for laptop and desktop computers, tablets, telecommunications system upgrades, telehealth equipment and remote monitoring equipment to offer telehealth medical, dental, behavioral health, women’s health and medication-assisted treatment services in five separate locations to contain the spread of COVID-19.
