Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a 29-year-old man they say escaped from a Berks County corrections center.
Michael Charles Hill Jr. of New Ringgold left the Wernersville Community Correction Center without authorization around 10 a.m. this past Saturday, said state police in Reading. Trooper David Boehm, public information officer for Troop L, said Hill was housed at a halfway home on the property of the Wernersville State Hospital in South Heidelberg Township at the time of the escape.
It’s unclear why Hill was staying at the halfway house, 165 Main St., and a news release didn’t specify.
Police have obtained an active warrant for Hill’s arrest.
