The Mesa Public Schools governing board appointed Andi Fourlis, the current deputy superintendent, to the superintendent position.

Fourlis will fill the position that was left vacant when the Mesa Public Schools governing board voted Dec. 2 to approve Ember Conley's resignation as superintendent of the district.

Fourlis came to Mesa Public Schools in July 2017 as the assistant superintendent overseeing teaching and learning. In July 2019, she became the district's deputy superintendent. Before beginning work in the district, Fourlis was the chief learning officer at the Arizona Science Center, and before that she worked in various roles in the Scottsdale Unified School District.
