PEORIA (HOI) - Almost 200 volunteers with Dream Center Peoria took on service projects across the area, Saturday.
The organization launched 'DCP Mobile,' a mobile truck unit that brings essential services out to the community.
They had four trucks hitting the road Saturday, including trucks for haircuts, showers, food and laundry.
The Executive Director of the Dream Center, Andy King said they always want to be there to help.
"Our aim with Dream Center is to take things that we do at the Dream Center into communities," said King. "Not everyone can get to the Dream Center, so we want to go to them. Whether they are homeless, or whether they are families that are just struggling, we want to be able to help them."
King said they hope to have these trucks brought out to the community twice a week to different areas of the city. Two more trucks will go out in the next few months.
