Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. Amazon, Inc. plans a large warehouse facility in the Boise area.
We told you about the 2.65 million square foot (not 650,000 square foot) ‘fulfillment center.’ We wrote about the 79,000 square foot ‘distribution center.’ Last month we told you about the 278,000 square foot ‘sortation facility.’
Now, another large Amazon facility will pop up, according to filings with the City of Meridian. The Seattle-based retailer plans a 141,360 square foot delivery station on a 32-acre piece of ground at 2316 W. Franklin Rd, near Ten Mile Rd.
The delivery station is the last stop for an Amazon package on its way to customers, according to an FAQ on the retailer’s website. Products often start at a fulfillment center, like the one in Nampa – then move to a sortation facility, before stopping at the delivery station on the way to the package’s final stop.
Predominantly parking
It marks at least the fifth local Amazon facility – including a separate delivery station in Nampa.
The project, on ground owned by Adler Industrial, is not specifically called out as an Amazon center. The retailer often tries to obscure its involvement in a project. However, the naming scheme of the new building follows Amazon’s standard system – this is a “DID3… E-commerce delivery station.” Amazon calls a similar facility in Boise DID2.

The site would include nearly 1,000 parking spaces – crews will pave nearly 70% of the site. A large area to the east of the building will provide space for delivery vehicle parking – with roughly 700 spaces for fleet parking. The area will include employee and visitor parking, as well as storage space for trailers and separate areas for delivery vans to queue and load up.
The City of Meridian approved the project last month.
