Mark Jackson to Lead Team IMPACT Athletic Advisory Board - Villanova University - Villanova University Official Athletic Site

VILLANOVA, Pa.—Villanova University Vice President and Director of Athletics Mark Jackson has been selected to lead the Athletic Advisory Board for Team IMPACT, a nonprofit organization that matches children with serious chronic illnesses with collegiate athletic teams. The volunteer Athletic Advisory Board is made up of a diverse group of coaching and administrative professionals whose expertise is instrumental in ensuring that Team IMPACT supports the unique needs of the student-athletes and coaches who participate with the organization. In his role leading this group, Jackson will help build the Advisory Board into an integral part of the Team IMPACT infrastructure.
 
Several of the Wildcats varsity sport programs have been involved with Team IMPACT in recent years, most recently the women's soccer team who participated in the program during its 2020 season. In addition, the Villanova football and men's basketball teams have worked with Team IMPACT and former men's basketball player and 1984 national champion Mark Plansky is a founding member and sits on the Board of Directors of Team IMPACT.
 
About Team IMPACT: Team IMPACT is the only U.S. nonprofit that tackles the emotional trauma and social isolation experienced by children facing serious and chronic illnesses by matching them with a college athletic team. The two-year therapeutic program complements a child's medical treatments, allowing the child to develop relationships and skills that help them complete the full circle of healing.
