Lincoln Center has canceled performances that were expected to run this fall, joining other performing arts organizations in shutting down their 2020 seasons.
“Given the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA) will cancel all fall events in the 2020/21 Great Performers series and 2020/21 David Rubenstein Atrium Season, as well as the annual White Light Festival,” Lincoln Center announced.
The plan is start up its Great Performers series in February, depending on health guidance.
Lincoln Center has furloughed or laid off about half of its staff, and leaders took salary cuts, according to the Times.
Lincoln Center has been running online programs at its website and Facebook page.
The announcement comes as other performance venues like movie theaters are preparing to open, perhaps as soon as next month.
