Mission Lexington announces June Impact Players - swlexledger.com

Lexington, SC - Mission Lexington is excited to highlight the following as June’s Church, Board and Volunteer of the Month for their contributions to Mission Lexington:

• RADIUS Church has been named Mission Lexington’s Church of the month. During the COVID-19 season, they raised community awareness of Mission Lexington by hosting “Groceries on the Go”, an event where the church sold cases of chicken and pre-packed produce with the option to purchase and send boxes of these items to Mission Lexington. We were overwhelmed by their generosity! Radius sent more than 200 cases of chicken and 46 boxes of produce to share with our neighbors in April, blessed us again by hosting another event in May, and they have another event later this month as well.

• Chris Rice is our Board Member of the month. He is an engineer at DAK Americas, LLC in Gaston, SC. He serves because he believes that the work that Mission Lexington does to meet the needs of families in crisis in our local community with compassion, love, and grace is vital. His parents taught him years ago that to whom much is given, much is required and they encouraged him to look for ways in the future that he could be a blessing to others.

• Glennys Compton is our Volunteer of the month. She is a retired clinical nurse specialist who came to us from the Milwaukee area where she taught nursing at Alverno College. She attends Pilgrim Church and is primarily responsible for preparing all of our items for the fall and summer Trunk Shows.

“The support that we receive from the community astounds us at times- God always brings the right people at the right time to help us as we serve others in their crisis.” said Robin W. Bowers, Executive Director of Mission Lexington.

Mission Lexington is the hub of care for Lexington County, assisting families and individuals with life essentials, resources, and guidance. They meet over 30,000 needs in Lexington County each year, ranging from helping an elderly couple with food to funeral expenses for a child. Their partner network includes local businesses and government agencies, corporations, organizations individuals and more than 50 member churches who sustain their vision daily. To learn more, visit www.missionlexingtonsc.org or call them at 803.957.6656.
