STANFORD, Calif. — Oregon center Alex Forsyth and nickel safety Bennett Williams didn’t play in Saturday’s 31-24 overtime loss against Stanford due to injury.

Forsyth went through early pregame warmups, but did not suit up in pads and was in a jersey and shorts due to back spasms, and Williams and offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead were absent from at Stanford Stadium on Saturday.

“Bennett, very freak accident (Friday) in practice, hurt himself pretty good,” Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said. “Non-contact drill, just hurt himself. So he couldn’t make the trip.”

Jamal Hill, who started at nickel last season, started in place of Williams and tied for a team-high with eight tackles.

Ryan Walk started at center in place of Forsyth, who led UO with 259 snaps entering Saturday’s game. Jackson Powers-Johnson started at right guard and Steven Jones later moved to right guard with Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu at right tackle.

Williams has 20 tackles with three interceptions this season.
