The 3,800-square-foot retail strip center at 1930 Carolina Beach Road has a new owner.
Summer Hill Square was purchased for $485,000 on Sept. 24 from Natson Enterprises by SEEK Land Holdings, according to property tax records and an announcement from Eastern Carolinas Commercial Real Estate.
Wilmington-based ECCRE represented the seller while Carolina Commercial Investment Properties, another Wilmington firm, represented the buyer.
"This area of Wilmington has seen significant redevelopment, adaptive reuse and growth over the last several years and will continue to see growth and expansion in the future," the ECCRE news release stated.
The center, at the corner of Tennessee Avenue and Carolina Beach Road, got two new tenants before the sale – 3rd Street Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Fitness, owned by Tom Watkins, and Dog Face Brands, owned by Jermaine Morris.
Morris, who sells customized and embroidered T-shirts and hats, as well as jewelry, leased 1,000 square feet for his store.
"It's a nice little area that seemed to be growing," he said, adding that he also hopes to grow his own business in his new storefront.
Customized clothing and accessories are in high demand, Morris said.
"For one, everybody’s wearing the same thing. It gives you that flexibility to stand out, do something different," Morris said. "Or maybe someone has their own logo and wants to promote it."
