RODNEY — CranHill recently hosted over 120 guests at a dedication ceremony for its new Ministry Center Facility as well as the sports court renovation project.
Those in attendance gathered to worship, hear addresses from former and current board members on the significance of the projects. CranHill president Scott Barger casted the vision for the new facilities and how they will impact the future of CranHill.
CranHill’s new Ministry Center will provide year-round indoor space for worship services, camp programs, community events, large meetings, and general recreation use.
The multi-use ministry center will feature a stage with full audio and video capabilities, seating for over 450 people, basketball and volleyball court, meeting spaces, and a front lobby for greeting campers and groups using the facility.
As the project winds down the construction phase, Barger is calling on the community to help CranHill finish strong by donating to the project.
“We are looking for folks who understand the importance of what CranHill Ranch does and who want to play a role in finishing this project,” Barger said. “Our staff, board, and donors believe this new building will be a catalyst for tremendous growth throughout our organization. Which in turn, will help us impact the lives of so many people throughout the Great Lakes region, through our family campground, summer youth and special needs camps, retreat group programs, and adventure experiences.”
The renovated Sports Court area features six new basketball hoops; a tennis/pickleball court; two new gaga ball pits; two shuffleboard courts; green space for constructing a large ice rink in the winter; picnic tables; and additional hitching barn space for horse trail rides.
“This was a project that needed to be done," said Barger. "The previous sports court area was very old and costly to repair. The new area will provide a high quality space to play and build memories together.”
A large portion of the cost of the project was provided through a grant from the Osceola County Community Foundation. Much of the land grading, along with hoop, light and fence installations was done by volunteers and CranHill staff, to save money on the project.
Now that these projects are nearing completion, CranHill staff are looking forward to seeing the community use them.
“CranHill is all about transforming lives," Barger said. "We believe that these two new facilities will help more families do just that."
