Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina Athletics and Ingles Markets have furthered their longstanding corporate partnership, entering a three-year agreement for the court naming rights for Catamount home sporting events inside the Liston B. Ramsey Regional Center.
The game floor at the Ramsey Center has been renamed and branded "Ingles Court" in recognition of the expanded sponsorship agreement between WCU and the Black Mountain, N.C., based Ingles Markets. In addition to the Ingles logo adorning the court in two spots, the agreement includes Ingles Court branding on the sidelines, directional branding within the Ramsey Center, as well as the inclusion of Ingles Court in all name recognition of the facility's floor.
"Ingles believes that our partnership with WCU spans across sports, education, and local service. We are so proud of that relationship and what it has already brought to so many. This next step is a natural progression as we seek to find new ways to make positive changes on the field, court, campus, and our towns," said Melissa Leavell, Director of Advertising for Ingles Markets.
Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center serves as the home court for all Catamount volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball games. In addition to the Ingles branding, the court received a refreshed look for the WCU playing surface including broad purple striping encircling the court on the side and baselines, updated wordmark branding, as well as a two-tone wood finish inside the 3-point arcs. WCU's existing court was refurbished and rebranded by Praters Flooring of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Ingles, a leading regional supermarket chain with nearly 200 stores across six Southeastern states, has been a long-standing partner of Catamount Athletics and the Southern Conference, serving as a presenting sponsor of the nation's oldest conference basketball tournament. Through its high-successful catering wing, The Chef's Kitchen, the grocer has worked together with WCU's athletics fundraising arm, the Catamount Club, in providing sponsorship of pregame events such as the Purple Zone. Ingles has also been a staunch supporter of WCU's student-athletes in making generous donations to WCU's sports performance and nutrition aimed at their health and wellness.

Catamount volleyball will be the first team to compete on the freshly-minted Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center, opening its 2021 season in late August. WCU's men's and women's basketball begin their respective seasons in early November. Each of those team's season schedules will be unveiled in the near future.
