GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - As part of Go Big Give, the Grand Island Crisis Center hosted their annual Feeding Dreams fundraiser on Saturday.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. four food trucks served at the Main Street Station and 100% of the proceeds went towards helping domestic and sexual violence survivors.
The money helps the Crisis Center buy food, clothes and shelter for the people they serve. Their goal is to raise $10,000 by the end of Go Big Give.
On Sunday, they will also have another food truck outside the Platte River Harley-Davidson in Grand Island.
“If you just give us $25 to donate, that’s going to feed a family for a week at one of our safe shelters,” said Marketing Coordinator Renae Swanson.
Organizers were happy with how everything turned out on Saturday and although it was windy outside, it didn’t stop people from showing their support.
