Genshin Impact 1.2 Leaks: Everything Rumored & Confirmed - Screen Rant

Now that its 1.1 update is wrapping up, Genshin Impact will soon have a lot more content in the form of Patch 1.2. Genshin Impact's 1.2 update is scheduled to release near the end of December, and it will presumably bring a lot of new characters, quests, and maybe even locations into the game. Leaks from Genshin Impact's beta continue to surface, but what's actually confirmed - and what's still technically just rumors?

The long-rumored Dragonspine area may finally be coming with Genshin Impact's 1.2 update. The Inazuma nation may be waiting until the big 2.0 patch comes next year, but Dragonspine has been all but officially confirmed for 1.2. The snowy Dragonspine region was also rumored for 1.1 though, so fans will have to wait for official confirmation from developer miHoYo to see if it's actually included this time around.

New events are a given, even without direct confirmation from miHoYo, since that's what keeps players coming back. While there hasn't been any word on new story quests, those will also most likely be included in Genshin Impact's 1.2 update, along with new quality-of-life improvements and features. Most of the leaks and rumors, though, involve new playable characters coming to Genshin Impact.

Character Leaks For Genshin Impact's 1.2 Update

Before Genshin Impact's 1.1 update released, every character included in the update had already been leaked. So, it's reasonable to assume the character leaks for Patch 1.2 are equally reliable. Around a dozen characters have leaked so far, but some seem more reliable than others. These include new characters like Ganyu, a Cryo user who's both an Adepti and human, and Albedo, a Geo user who's an alchemist for the Knights of Favonius. Both characters leaked from Genshin Impact's beta, so there's already footage of them in the game. For now, however, neither Albedo nor Ganyu have been officially confirmed for 1.2, so they may be coming to the game at a later date instead.

Late in the current 1.1 content, players are introduced to a Fatui Harbinger named Scaramouche. While there's no word from developer miHoYo if Scaramouche will be playable, there's a very good chance he will be. Important and unique-looking characters have mostly become playable in Genshin Impact, and his inclusion in Patch 1.2 makes a lot of sense. Players should definitely expect to see more of him in the 1.2 content, even if he isn't playable yet.

With a game as popular as Genshin Impact, some leaks are bound to be false. So far, though, the rumors have a pretty good track record of being real. Hopefully, miHoYo will soon share more details regarding the new 1.2 update coming to Genshin Impact on December 23rd.
