Actress Kelly Preston, 57, has died of breast cancer, her husband John Travolta announced via Instagram on Sunday.

Actress Kelly Preston, 57, has died of breast cancer, her husband John Travolta announced via Instagram on Sunday.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Travolta posted.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Travolta posted on Sunday.
Preston received treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, according to Travolta. The actor paid tribute to loved ones as well as to the Houston comprehensive cancer center's staff in his post.
“My family and I will be forever grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side,” posted Travolta.
Preston was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, “choosing to keep her fight private,” a family representative told People magazine.
Preston’s on-camera career includes such films as "Jerry Maguire," "Twins," and "SpaceCamp." In 2018, she appeared with Travolta in "Gotti," her last on-screen role.
There has been an outpouring of support for the late actress on Twitter from several celebrities.
“Shocked by this sad news. Kelly was such a bright loving soul, a talented actress, and a loving mom and wife," Maria Shriver tweeted. "My heart breaks for her family who have already known such sadness and grief. Join me in sending them love and strength.”

I haven't seen her much, but when I did, she was always the same sparkly eyed gem. Love to her family. R.I.P."
Preston and Travolta had three children together: Jett, who died in 2009 at age 16, Ella, 20, and Benjamin, 9.
"I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while," Travolta said in his Instagram post. "But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal."
