A Safe Haven for Hope & Healing
The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC) — Washington Township strives to enrich and enhance the lives of patients, as well as their family members and caregivers. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the SKCC now offers complimentary chemotherapy education via telehealth for newly diagnosed patients. From home, patients can interact with staff, learn about their treatment regimen and “virtually” tour the facility.
When it is deemed safe, the Center for Hope & Healing looks forward to once again providing in-person comfort and care, where patients can share experiences with other survivors, speak with oncology professionals, self-reflect, and attend professionally facilitated educational, yoga, Reiki, Tai Chi and art therapy classes.
Personalized Nurse Guidance
A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. The Patient Navigation Program offers the assistance of dedicated certified oncology nurses to provide needed support, guidance and education, while eliminating any barriers to care.
Nurse navigators serve as patient advocates, ensuring questions are addressed by medical professionals involved in the case. As core members of the oncology team, nurse navigators are invaluable resources to physicians, patients and care team members.
Counseling and More
A team of registered dietitians is available to provide nutritional support and counseling to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Oncology social workers are also on hand to provide psychosocial support services, in both private and group settings, including mental health counseling, education and spiritual support.

Robin Wilson-Smith, DO, FACOG, FACOOG
Dr. Wilson-Smith, a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is board certified in OB/GYN and gynecologic oncology.
Lung Program Featuring the Lung Nodule Center
Jay M. Steinberg, DO
Dr. Steinberg, medical director of Thoracic Surgery, is board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Medical Oncology
Ana María López, MD, MPH, MACP
A board-certified medical oncologist, Dr. López is the immediate past president of the American College of Physicians and was recently named a Top Doctor by Philadelphia magazine.
Radiation Oncology
Tamara A. LaCouture, MD
Board certified in radiation oncology, Dr. LaCouture has been recognized as a top doctor in her field by SJ Magazine, Philadelphia magazine, and Inside Jersey.
