A new effort is underway tonight to fund repairs on the historic Shortline 66 Depot in Center, Missouri.
Organizers of the Run on the River Poker Run on the Salt River said they're trying to help the Ralls County Historical Society get the cash to make repairs to the roof and other parts of this former train station stop by hosting a canoeing and kayaking event.
"It's a poker run, so you get a card when you start, you'll have three stops along the river on sand bars to pick up cards, get one at the end, we'll see who has the best poker hand, there will be prizes for the first second and third place," said event organizer Sharon Lake.
It's all taking place at the Meadow Campground off Highway 61 on July the 11th.
Registration is from 9 am to noon and will cost $20.
