Click for more informationFERNDALE, Wash. — COVID-19 concerns over the past 2 months resulted in a combination of reduced hours and people staying home causing a drop in traffic at the Ferndale Community Resource Center, a program of the Ferndale Community Services Cooperative.
Center Program Coordinator Terri Temple said she was concerned about those in the community who have lost access to the Internet. “So much of dealing with COVID seems to be online. With the library closed, many have lost their access to the Internet or do not have access to a printer, much less a scanner. We can provide access to a computer and the Internet along with printing, scanning and faxing capabilities for filling out online forms, applying for assistance or sending proof of income. We also have a phone line with US long distance available for those without a phone or who are low on their calling minutes.”
Temple said the volunteer staffed Center is open Mondays from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2:30pm to 6pm and Tuesdays from 9:30pm to 12:30pm. They will also be open the first Saturdays of each month beginning June 6th from 10am to 2pm.
“In order to protect our volunteer staff and our customers, we are limiting the number of individuals in the Center to 1 or 2. Everyone is asked to wear a mask. While supplies last, we will supply a cloth mask to those that don’t have one,” Temple said.

The Center is not currently taking item donations.
The Ferndale Municipal Court, which shares the space, is expanding to meet their own physical distancing needs. Until further notice, the Center will be closed Thursdays and Fridays to accommodate the court.
Temple added “We’d like to thank everyone in the community who has supported us during this challenging time. We look forward to being back to our former level of service as soon as possible.”
