Rosemont's Impact Field May Be Site For Winter Festival - Journal & Topics Newspapers Online

Rosemont officials are planning for another major use of Impact Field besides being home to the Chicago Dogs baseball team.

Village board members Monday are expected to approve an agreement that would transform the ballpark as a venue where an annual Winter Festival will be held.

The proposal calls for a partnership between Rosemont, the Chicago Dogs and Holiday Design, LLC for the production of the AMAZE Winter Festival. The first fest would be held this year from mid-November to New Years Day, according to Mayor Brad Stephens.

The event, he said, would be a light show where people walk through various sections of the minor league softball stadium that’s located west of I-294 at Balmoral Avenue. Stephens called it “really cool.”

The proposed agreement would run from 2021 to 2028.

Before Impact Field, which is owned by the village, was built, Mayor Stephens explained that he wanted the venue to host events during months when the Dogs are not playing seasonal baseball games.
