A Plano data center is set to grow with a major expansion in the works.
Flexential Corp. owns the 261,000-square-foot tech campus at 3500 E. Plano Parkway.
It’s one of three data centers the company, which has offices in Charlotte and Denver, operates in North Texas.
Flexential plans to start work early next year on a 146,000-square-foot addition to the Plano campus, according to planning documents filed with the state.
“Dallas is a primary market for Flexential, where we have three locations: downtown Dallas (which includes five facilities), Richardson and Plano,” Flexential’s chief operating office of co-location services said in an email. “High customer demand in the Dallas market is driving the need for us to provide additional capacity — we are fulfilling this demand with an additional 2.25 megawatts in our Plano facility, which will be available in 120 days.
“At full build-out, our Plano data center will provide 18 megawatts of capacity.”
Flexential was founded in 1999 and operates 40 data centers in 20 U.S. markets.
