WHO: Families with babies and young children.
AGENCY: Riverfront Children’s Center.
THEIR SITUATION: Nearly 85% of Riverfront families require subsidies and/or scholarships to meet the cost of early childhood education. These families also have access to the center’s food pantry, hygiene closet and a hardship fund for emergency financial assistance. The coronavirus pandemic has impacted their financial stability due to unstable employment, increased child care needs due to remote learning and mandated quarantines that keep them from working.
WHAT TO GIVE: Gift cards for local grocers, department stores and gas stations, and cash to provide assistance with rent and utilities, are needed to stabilize our families until the COVID-19 crisis passes.
TO DONATE: Mail donations to Riverfront Children’s Center, 476 Thames St., Groton, CT 06340. For more information, call (860) 445-8151.
