AEW has shocked the world again. Sting has arrived and Kenny Omega is headed to Impact Wrestling. The wrestling world is shaking.
Just in case you somehow missed the incredible news, the newly crowned All Elite Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega is set to appear in Impact Wrestling. The internet has been buzzing ever since the announcement happened. Wrestlers from both companies have been chiming in on Twitter and other social media platforms. We have already seen wrestlers and fans alike posting their dream matches between AEW and Impact.
The former AEW Tag Team Champions Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR have both named separate teams on Twitter. With Cash naming the Motor City Machine Guns and Dax naming The North. Months before this idea was imagined, FTR has already discussed fighting the Motor City Machine Guns.
If we see a full-fledge working agreement, no matter how much either company gains, we are the true winners. Next Tuesday when Kenny Omega shows up on Impact Wrestling, things are destined to change. This is the first time we have seen a working agreement that could mean so much. There is nobody that can truly lose if these two teams work well together. We are still learning the details, but I am hoping that the two companies will go “all in.”
With two Good Brothers reigning as the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions, things could get too sweet real quick. However, this is a new day in time without a club binding these men together, this could be a lot of fun. Could we be on the verge of seeing a dream match between Gallows and Anderson and The Young Bucks? The list of possible match-ups is endless!
I am extremely excited to see what comes out of Kenny’s appearance. This is a huge opportunity for both companies that can use each other to help out where the other is lacking. This is a tremendous move for AEW’s women’s division that can gain a lot from the Impact knockouts. I am already drooling at the thought of seeing Awesome Kong returning to Impact or Su Yung creeping into AEW.
Impact Wrestling also recently released Sting’s debut in the company on their YouTube channel. This could be an indication of “The Stinger” returning to Impact Wrestling for the first time in six years. At the end of the day, the possibilities are endless. The discussion and predictions could go on for days and that is precisely why this is such blockbuster news.
After years of teasing the possibility, this is an opportunity for Chris Jericho to finally arrive in Impact Wrestling. This is something I have been personally waiting for since Impact used Jericho’s band Fozzy’s hit song “Enemy” for their 2006 Bound For Glory pay-per-view. Both sides are going to benefit greatly from the other.
With AEW workers still working in companies like NJPW and MLW, the wrestling world could be changing again in a big way. This is a tough age for pro-wrestling forcing companies to be more open to helping each other more than ever before. It would not shock me if AEW and Impact’s alliance is just the start of companies working together, at least until things get back to normal.
We are all waiting in anticipation to see Impact Wrestling for the first time in years. Kenny Omega’s Impact Wrestling debut could be the highest rated segment in company history.
