With the flu season right around the corner, now is a great time to get your annual flu vaccine.

Pat Walker Health Center is now offering flu vaccines for the University of Arkansas community. Students, faculty and staff can schedule their flu vaccine by calling 479-575-7723.

Fall 2020: To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Pat Walker Health Center will not offer a walk-in flu vaccine clinic this semester or offer online scheduling. Appointments (and masks) are required for flu vaccines administered at the clinic.

The cost of the flu vaccine is $20 for students and $50 for faculty/staff. The vaccine can also be billed to insurance, as many health insurance plans cover the cost of the flu vaccine.

Health Center officials anticipate a higher-than-normal demand for the flu vaccine this season, so medical experts are strongly encouraging everyone to get their vaccine as soon as possible.

“Getting a flu shot is more important than ever this year given our current COVID-19 pandemic,” said Dr. Huda Sharaf, medical director for Pat Walker Health Center. “The flu vaccine is the single best way to protect against the flu virus.”

Drive-Through Flu Vaccine Clinic

For added convenience, Pat Walker Health Center is hosting a drive-through flu vaccine clinic at Baum Walker Stadium Parking lot. No appointment is required — however vaccines are limited.

Get Your Flu Vaccine

Noon to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23

Parking Lot across from Baum-Walker Stadium — South Razorback Road and West 15th Street

The vaccine clinic is for students, faculty and staff only. You must present your UA ID card/number. Mask/face covering is also required. Please make sure to bring your health insurance card/policy information to avoid being charged for the vaccine.

The cost of the flu vaccine is $20 for students and $50 for faculty/staff; however, most health insurance policies cover the cost of the vaccine at 100%.

Important: PWHC officials will not collect payment onsite. All charges, if applicable, will be billed to your UAConnect account.

The CDC strongly recommends everyone aged six-months and older receive an annual flu vaccine. Getting vaccinated early is the best way to ensure you are protected throughout the entire flu season.
