Firefighters Saturday were on the scene of a brush fire on Highway 74 west of Mountain Center in southwest Riverside County.
The fire, reported about 4:10 p.m., was burning in the San Bernardino National Forest. Crews from the U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department were there.
The California Highway Patrol has closed Highway 74 between Borco Street east of Hemet and Highway 243 in the mountains.
